Yes, it seems odd that orchids, a tropical plant, start to flower (in my house) late February early March but they do, as if to announce spring is just around the corner. Our spring-like weather we have been experiencing in February is gone, old father winter is taking advantage of the last few days of winter. Our latest snowstorm dropped just a couple of inches of snow followed by some rain making this snow very wet and very hard to shovel, it was real heavy. Winter 2016 has finally arrived and with a punch

Theoretically the winter season starts on December 21 and ends March 19. So far this winter season had been a rather mild and snowless season until January 22, 2016. The blizzard that dumped 30 inches of snow in our neighborhood left us all breathless, weary, and wishing for spring to come soon. Here are some photos from the blizzard snowstorm, #snowzilla2016.
